Every career has a first step

What do a fast-food counter and a career crossroads have in common? More than you’d think.

Then:
➡️18 years old, working at a certain fast-food place, the one with the big yellow ‘M’.
Serving customers, doing the trash walk, studying for my A-Levels — and quietly dreaming of something more, something bigger.
I had no idea where the road I had started on would lead.
That job was the first step in a career marked by lots of transitions, reinventions, pivots — and a growing sense of purpose.
And:
➡️ At a certain point, many of us reach a crossroads. It's where the old map — the job, the duties, the identity — no longer fits.
You may have served a mission, held senior roles, built a reputation and identity - and then...something happens:
🔹Redundancy.
🔹A restructure.
🔹Burnout.
🔹A voice asking: 'Is this it?'
Now:
➡️ This is the point where I come in.
I work with professionals, especially those in the public sector, whose roadmaps have led them to a crossroads, a place of uncertainty.
According to the World Health Organisation, by 2030, 1 in 6 people in the world will be aged 60 or over — and that opens the door to extended, evolving, and new careers.
Whether this change has been a long time coming, or it’s arrived out of the blue—what matters now is what you choose to do next.
🟢 If you're a midlife professional facing change — by choice, chance, or circumstance — and want the space to figure out, let's talk.
